It only processes content with a real timeline (00:00:01,000 --> 00:00:03,000). Plain transcripts get a clear message instead: without timings there is no way to know how long a line should stay on screen, and inventing them makes editing harder.

How does line wrapping break?

English wraps at spaces; Chinese wraps by character, because breaking at word boundaries in unspaced text looks choppier than a clean character break. Mixed-script lines will therefore show shorter English rows than the limit.
